A farmer-owned ethanol plant recently announced a co-development relationship with John Deere Wind Energy to put up two large windmills. Corn Plus Cooperative, Winnebago, MN, estimates 45% of its electricity needs will be met by wind power once the new windmills are constructed.

The project is called CP Wind Farm LLC. The wind energy developer Renewable Energy Solutions is handling the project in conjunction with John Deere. Two 2.1-megawatt S88 wind turbines will be placed near the ethanol plant. John Deere Wind Energy is a business unit of John Deere Credit.
