Daedong diesel engine; synchromesh shuttle transmission for easy loader applications or hydrostatic transmission; independent electronic control 540 PTO or dual-state clutch, live 540 PTO; and remote hydraulics.

Prices range from $9,999 to $24,500. The company also is selling implements, including loaders, disks and mowers, with the Montana Tractor label. Contact Montana Tractors, Dept. FIN, 2737 N. Thompson, Springdale, AR 72764, 800/872-1910, visit or, or circle 201.

The Powerfarm line is built heavy for demanding jobs like loader work with a standard hydraulic lift capacity of 5,600 lbs. The line consists of five models that range in horsepower from 60 to 105. The models are equipped with the 1100-series Perkins engine that starts at 3 cyl. in the Powerfarm 60, moves up to 4 cyl. in the 75 and 85 models, and is a turbocharged 4 cyl. in the 95 and 105 models. A high-crop version also is available. The Powerfarm tractors may be purchased with a platform or a new high-visibility cab that features a redesigned heating, air conditioning and ventilation system and ergonomically designed controls. Prices range from $24,000 for the Powerfarm 60 with 2-wd and platform up to $41,400 for the 105 model with 4-wd and a cab.

The Alpine tractor line with the 800-series Perkins engine is built to handle general-purpose utility jobs on the farm. The line consists of the 65, 75 and 85 models, which are all 4-wd, five-speed, and equipped with a redesigned cab that is similar to the Powerfarm cab. The cab provides more convenience and comfort as well as visibility for the operator. The Alpine models offer a standard hydraulic lift capacity of 4,600 lbs.

The 4-wd tractors offer a tight turning radius of 8½ ft. and a 12 × 12 shuttle transmission. A front PTO drives attachments at 1,000 rpm and runs separately from the rear PTO. List price for the Agrokid 40 (shown on page 63) is $17,160. Contact Same Deutz-Fahr North America Inc., Dept. FIN, 3883 Steve Reynolds Blvd., Norcross, GA 30093, 678/924-7420, visit or, or circle 207.

Easy cattle handling

A new cattle-handling system from Palco makes it easy to move livestock into an alley and chute. The new Continuous Loop Crowding Tub (shown on page 63) features a circular tub with gates that alternate from a swing to a lock position to keep cattle flowing through the tub. This is more efficient than in standard tubs where the swing gate must be moved back to open position to reload the tub with another group of livestock. The tub retails for $3,966.

Palco also is marketing the Cattlemaster DA48 with a chute scale and double alley. As cattle flow through the double alley, they alternate movement through the system by pushing the swing gate on their own. The double alley system is 48 ft. long and splits in the middle for easy movability. Retail price is $20,298.

Contact Palco Livestock Equipment, Dept. FIN, Box 1247, Norfolk, NE 68702-1247, 866/857-2526, visit, or circle 208.

Fast bale work

The new Bale Runner will make loading large round bales a quick and easy job. The new implement is a remotely operated hydraulic hay trailer that loads up to five bales scattered in the field in less than three minutes, according to Bruce Eastwood of Bale Runner Manufacturing.

To unload the trailer, the operator simply drops the rails and drives away. The bales remain behind, stacked in a row. The operator controls the implement with a three-button electric control box in the cab of the tow vehicle. Either a tractor or a ¾-ton truck with a gooseneck hitch can tow the Bale Runner, which is legal for highway travel.

Suggested retail price is about $12,900. Contact Bale Runner Mfg., Dept. FIN, Rt. 1, Box 3080, Boswell, OK 74727, 580/566-1010, visit or, or circle 209.

Portable 3-pt. hitch

A farmer from Florida is coming to the market with a new portable 3-pt. hitch that attaches to a pickup truck or trailer. The Agro-Doall is powered by a 24-hp Honda gas engine. The hitch with the Hydro-Pack attaches to any pickup truck or trailer to power many implements — from post-hole diggers and mowers to sprayers — with its power up, power down and float operations. The Agro-Doall Hydro-Pack is portable and may be left in the field to run a pump or in the barn to run a 3-pt.-hitch generator.

List price for the Agro-Doall and Hydro-Pack is $7,050. A 30-hp Yannmar diesel engine version also is available to provide more torque and longer engine life. Contact Joe Raimondo, Agro-Doall Systems, Dept. FIN, 490 S. Cty. Rd., Bunnell, FL 32110, 386/931-0615, visit, or circle 210.

GPS-assisted pumping

GPS is now being used to help make a solar water-pumping system more efficient. Monoflo's GPS Tracking Array will ensure that solar modules for water pumping are always facing the sun. A GPS sensor provides precise latitude, longitude and time so the array's controller can calculate the exact position of the sun and correctly position the solar array. This can improve daily water output of a solar pump by 30%, according to the company. Solar water pumps are ideal for providing water for livestock in remote locations. The tracker requires no fuel or wind to operate.

Prices start at $3,000 and go to $15,000, depending on the number of solar panels used. Contact Monoflo Inc., Dept. FIN, 16503 Park Row, Houston, TX 77084, 281/599-4700, visit or, or circle 211.

Telescoping fence

The Hold 'em corral and gate with telescoping panels transport easily and set up quickly when a small corral is needed. The panels are 5 ft. 4 in. long when fully retracted and expand to 10 ft. long. They are 4 ft. 9 in. tall and weigh 50 lbs. each. Each panel retails for $75.

Contact Hold 'Em Corral & Gate, Dept. FIN, Box 1188, Gadsden, AL 35902, 800/538-1780, visit, or circle 212.

Install a cab

Fully enclosed cabs designed for compact John Deere tractors in a new OEM styling are now available from Sims Cab Depot. The cabs feature front curved windshields, front and rear hinged windows for ventilation, glass side windows, and high-impact ABS roofs. The cabs are not rollover protective structures (ROPS).

Suggested retail prices range from $3,595 to $3,795, depending on the model. Sims makes a wide variety of cabs that fit on most models of tractors. Contact Sims Cab Depot, Dept. FIN, 200 Moulinette Rd., Long Sault, Ontario K0C 1P0, Canada, 800/225-7290, visit or, or circle 213.
