Max Armstrong and Orion Samuelson start off with an update on Midwest weather for planting from agriculture meteorologist Greg Soulje. Lynn Ketelsen reports from Minnesota on planting progress there. Dr. Michael Cordonnier of cornandsoybeans.com talks with Max and Orion about the impact of the very tough planting year on prices, which is a bright spot for farmers.

Part 2

Dr. Michael Cordonnier of cornandsoybeans.com rejoins Max and Orion to discuss the soybean crop in the U.S. and its opportunity to get in the ground before prevent plant and then they talk about the South American crop. Chad Colby in the Colby Ag Tech segment talks about how farmers are using technology to overcome this year’s challenges. Sarah Muirhead and Ann Hess of National Hog Farmer magazine talk with Max about the impact of Global Pork Expo’s cancellation this year.  They also discuss the Global Hog Industry Virtual Conference which will help fill some of the void.

Max and Orion hear from Don Wick of Red River Farm Network in Grand Forks, North Dakota in the Farm Broadcaster of the Week segment. Max introduces a conversation with Jon Fourez a volunteer at the I&I Show where he shows off an old school sawmill in action.

Member Blake Smith tells us about an impressive variety of things the chapter has going on. In Samuelson Sez, Orion takes a look at the possibility of ag trade with Cuba.

Max and Orion get a report from Steve Bridge who tells them about what’s happening at the Pearse Lyons Accelerator for ag innovation.
