Max begins the show visiting with Pastor Doug Bauman and congregant Henry Wischmeier at St Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana. Pastor Bauman shares the history of the church, education and more from the rural area.
Max is joined by another congregation member Donna Sasse. Donna shares the history behind the community and the diverse buildings across the community.
Dan Mau, Cantor, Director of Music at St. Paul chats with Max next about the holiday preparations for the congregation’s musical celebrations. Dan shares the history of the church organ, the bell tower as well as the bell choir.
Next, Max stops at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake, Mo. Mike and Bob Zahner shares the history of the church and small community.
Max joins us next from Pocahontas, Mo., where he talks with Todd Rushing. Todd works with the Missouri River industry and is a member of Apple Creek Presbyterian Church. Todd shares the church was built in 1873, has no electricity and is heated by stoves. He also shares the importance of the cemetery to so many in the community.
The next stop is Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna, Mo. Max is joined by Denise Morrison and Bill Bock where he learns the decoration process and history of the church.
We end this Christmas special with Silent Night sung by candlelight.
