Snow blankets a field were only cotton stalks are visible.Brent Murphree
The storm that hit much of the South last week wreaked havoc on farm communities. On Thursday, February 11 an ice storm hit the Midsouth. It introduced freezing temperatures which would not rise above 32 degrees for nine days.
In western Tennessee two additional storms dropped from eight to 10 inches of snow, stranding residents in their homes and making roads impassable.
Following the second snowstorm, white blanketed the area covering everything in most field except for stubborn corn and cotton stalks, and a few large daikon radishes.
