Waste pesticide collection July 31 in Mississippi

The Mississippi State University Extension Service will hold a waste pesticide collection day July 31 in Tunica County for farmers and pesticide applicators in northwest Mississippi. The event will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tunica Gin on Highway 61, 1 mile south of Tunica. There is no fee to participate.

β€œThe event offers farmers a safe, economical way to get rid of unwanted pesticides,” said Anthony Bland, Tunica County Extension director.

The Waste Pesticide Disposal Program is a series of periodic collection events coordinated by Extension and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce. Funding is made available through the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. For more information, contact Bland at (662) 363-2911.
