A one-stop-shop of federal programs that can be used by rural communities, organizations and individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic has been unveiled by USDA. The COVID-19 Federal Rural Resource Guide is a resource for rural leaders looking for federal funding and partnership opportunities to help address this pandemic.

“This resource guide will help our rural leaders, whether they are in agriculture, education, health care or any other leadership capacity, understand what federal assistance is available for their communities during this unprecedented time," said Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue.

What has USDA been doing during this emergency?

  • USDA is giving producers more time to repay Marketing Assistance Loans, extending the maturity date from nine months to 12.

  • McLane Global is partnering with USDA, Baylor Collaborative on Hunger, PepsiCo and others in a program to provide home delivery of free meals through the Emergency Meals-To-You Partnership.

  • The Trump administration will look into potential anticompetitive behavior in the beef packing industry.
