DALE FOLZ, metalworker and inventor of The Ultimate Ramp, says he got the idea for his invention after watching ATV owners struggle to get their “ultimate toy” into and out of their pickup trucks. For farmers and crop consultants who rely on ATVs for scouting far-flung fields, the ramp is a time-saver and a lot safer than other methods of getting a heavy four-wheeler on and off the truck. There is no more lugging planks or searching for the perfect ditch to back up to.

One person can easily install and remove the all-metal, heavy-duty ramp in minutes. The main support slips into a 2-in. receiver hitch, and the ramp attaches to it. Standard ramps come in two lengths of either 6 or 7 ft. and are 13 in. wide. Adjustments on the main support allow matching to the truck's bed height. When not in use, the ramp folds up and locks above the hitch. A ball hitch attachment allows for trailer towing while the ramp is still attached to the receiver hitch.
