UA publishes soybean performance in '02 tests

ARKANSAS PRODUCERS can plant with confidence thanks to the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture's soybean performance tests. The latest results are available in the publication, “Arkansas Soybean Performance Tests 2002,” from the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station.

To represent the major production environments for Arkansas soybeans, performance trials are conducted at UA research and Extension centers and branch stations in five locations across the state, as well as a cooperating farm in LaFayette County. Commercial and public soybean varieties are entered in the tests and recommended cultivation practices are used at each location.

Producers can contact their county Extension offices for help selecting suitable soybean varieties. “Arkansas Soybean Performance Tests 2002” is available free from the Communications Services Unit of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station. Call 479-575-5670 to order.

The publication can also be downloaded from the Web in pdf format. Go to the Experiment Station publications Web site at and click on the link for Research Series 500.

Variety test information about soybeans and other Arkansas crops can also be found at the Variety Testing Web site:
