Ugly pickup photo contest: Submit your entry now for a chance to win a prize

Enter your ugliest pickup truck photo for a chance to win one of 10 prizes.

Every farmer has an old pickup truck on the farm that he or she just can’t part with for many different reasons. We are asking you, our readers, to submit photos of that old, ugly pickup from your farm, whether it’s still running or not. Photos can be submitted in one of two ways. Email the photo as an attachment to with the subject line “Ugly pickup photo contest,” or post the photo to the Farm Industry News Facebook wall (see instructions below). There is no entry limit, but entrants may not submit the same truck photo more than once. You may include information about your ugly truck when submitting your entry.

Instructions for posting a photo to the Farm Industry News Facebook wall:

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account.

Step 2: Search for Farm Industry News and click the “Like” button once you are on the Farm Industry News Facebook page.

Step 3: At the top of the Farm Industry News Facebook wall, click on share photo. Select the photo from your computer, and in the “Say something about this photo…” field, type “Ugly pickup photo contest entry.” You may include additional information about the truck if you’d like.

From now until Wednesday, March 27, we will accept photos of your ugly pickups on the farm. We will then post an album on Facebook with all the entrants’ photos. Readers will then be invited to “like” their favorite photo, and winners will be selected based on the number of “likes” they receive. The first-place winner will receive this 384-page book The Farm Tractor by Ralph W. Sanders AND one of our Farm Industry News hats. Second- through tenth-place winners will each receive one Farm Industry News hat. We will mail the prizes to your home address.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A purchase does not improve your chances of winning. Contest open to legal residents of 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 or older. To enter, send in your best ugly pickup photo to or on Facebook. All entries must be received by Wednesday, March 27. Void outside of the 50 United States and District of Columbia and where prohibited by law.

Remember, if you email us your photo, you still have to “like” Farm Industry News on Facebook to vote.

Voting will take place from Thursday, March 28, through Friday, April 5. The winners will be announced at the end of the day on April 5. Within the announcement, we will provide an email address for the winners to send shipping addresses.
