First the 150, now the Super Duty goes aluminum

Heavy-duty pickups do the bulk of the work on a lot of farms, and it's a competitive business. Ford has always been strong with hits Super Duty F series, and during the Texas State Fair in September, the company introduced the 2017 model and answered one big question: Yes, it has an aluminum body.

The move to aluminum helps reduce weight, but in this case the weight reduction is less than that gained in the F-150. Here, the Super Duty F gets about 350 pounds lighter, but picks up towing and load carrying capacity. In essence, Ford is putting the weight where it belongs. And don't forget this is not run of the mill aluminum, this is military grade material.

In this gallery we'll run through the key features of the series and offer up a few interesting facts about the new truck. Check out the images to get a look at the truck, which will hit the market in late 2017.
