As we have done for the past several years during the dormant season, your Certis Biologicals Ask the Expert team likes to bring useful and helpful information that will help you plan and prepare for the coming season. Anything we share during this time hopefully will help make next year easier and more efficient for you.
This year, we’d like to take a moment to examine why we believe biologicals are the key that unlocks so much potential for you and your orchards. Introducing our Why Bio? Series, which answers all the questions about what biologicals can offer you whether you are an experienced bio-user or a new adopter of the technology.
But first, we think it’s important for you to understand that at Certis Biologicals, bio is what we do best because it’s all we do. And we’ve been doing it for a very long time. In fact, you may have read that Certis Biologicals is celebrating our 20th anniversary this year, but before that, even as far back as the 1960’s our production facility right here in Wasco, California was producing Bts. That facility created Thuricide, the first Bt product registered for use in the United States. One of our legacy companies, W.R. Grace, held the first EPA registration for neem technology.
Thermo Trilogy, another of our legacy companies, was instrumental in forming BPIA (Biological Products Industry Alliance) so that the biological industry could focus its energies on meeting the needs of the future through biologicals.
Needless to say, even before bio-based crop protection solutions were a consideration for use in commercial agriculture, we were there, laying the foundation for what you use today.
Those innovations and honing of our products and our portfolio have only grown since then, too. We’ve partnered with other leading manufacturers like Neudorff, OmniLytics and Bayer Crop Science to bring some of the most reliable bio-based crop protection solutions to the market so that they can be used on your farms.
We pioneered the use of plant activator technology through our product LifeGard® (which won 2017 Best New Biological Product of the Year from Agrow) and bacteriophage technology through our AgriPhage® partnership with OmniLytics.
These new innovations stand right alongside our legacy products like Double Nickel®, Kocide®, MeloCon® and Neemix® to bring you the most comprehensive portfolio of bio-based solutions on the market today. Not only are these products available here in the US, but we export to more than 55 countries around the globe.
Not only is our company the leader in the biologicals industry, but our sales team in California and across the US all have a combined expertise in biologicals that is unmatched in the industry. We’ve studied how biologicals work, watched their efficacy in field trials, seen how they can expertly fit into an IPM plan and we’ve worked with growers just like you to bring all that knowledge to bear for your success.
When it comes to biologicals, you can trust Certis because it’s what we’ve spent a long time doing best.
Stay tuned as we bring you more information about how biologicals can benefit you this coming growing season. And, as always, if you have questions we can help you with, please reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org.
