A series of meetings will discuss the latest developments in tree nut production.

Tree nut experts from Valent are holding a series of meetings in California later this month to discuss the latest developments in almond, pistachio and walnut production.

Topics at the meetings, which are slated to take 2 to 3 hours, will include the basics of weed control, navel orangeworm best practices, enhancing disease programs, and increasing nut set, according to a flier.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

  • Noon Oct. 29 at he California Farm Bureau Federation office, 2300 River Plaza Drive, Sacramento. Lunch will be provided.

  • 10 a.m. Oct. 30 at the Sierra Nevada Brewery, 1075 East 20th St., Chico. Lunch will be provided.

  • 8 a.m. Oct. 31 at the Robert Cabral Agricultural Center, 2101 East Earhart Ave., Stockton. Breakfast will be provided.

  • 8 a.m. Nov. 1 at Agrion Inc., 352 West Spruce Ave., Fresno. Breakfast will be provided.

  • 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at Hodel's Country Dining, 5917 Knudsen Drive, Bakersfield. Lunch will be provided.
