TractorLife.com, a website that helps farmers extend the operating lives of their tractors, has added a blog written by well-known ag journalist Mark Moore. The blog gives timely and practical information about topics such as tractor maintenance, new products, implements, Tier 4 engines, safety issues, fuel efficiency, and buying and selling tractors. Moore says he also relates breaking news events that affect the agricultural community in his frequent posts.

For many years Moore has contributed to a number of agricultural publications, including Farm Industry News, Corn and Soybean Digest, No-Till Farmer and Farm Equipment. He is a member of both the North American Agricultural journalists and American Agricultural Editors’ Association.

“The blog, like the website, is about helping farmers extend the useful and productive life cycles of tractors and other farm equipment,” Moore says. “We want to help farmers be proactive about maintenance to get the most out of their tractors. And that includes posts about engine oil, hydraulic tractor fluids ad many other tips about machinery maintenance.”

The TractorLife.com blog also provides farmers with a friendly format for exchanging information with farmers from around the country about how to improve tractor performance and protect expensive farm equipment. Moore invites growers to join the conversation about these topics:

Starting Fall Maintenance What’s your pre-harvest maintenance plan?

Russia offering cash for clunker tractors How would a government-sponsored buyback program in the U.S. for farm equipment impact you and your operation?

Will confusion delay your Tier 4 buying? How well do you understand the new Interim Tier 4 engines, and are you holding off any major purchases until the requirements are finalized?

It’s that time of year. What’s the best, or most interesting, equipment demonstration you’ve seen?

Get ready to pay more for Tier 4 How would higher prices for Interim-Tier-4-equipped tractors figure into your buying decisions for 2011 or 2012?

TractorLife.com, enabled by The Lubrizol Corporation, is dedicated to helping farmers manage the lives of their tractors, viewing maintenance from a proactive, rather than a reactive, perspective. The website provides farmers with ideas and tools for getting the most years of trouble-free tractor life and, ultimately, maximizing the productivity of their farms.
