Agritechnica preview: Fendt unveils three new 700 Vario tractors

At a sneak preview of what’s coming to Agritechnica 2011, AGCO’s Fendt reported it will introduce three new models to the 700 Vario series: 714 Vario with 145 hp; 716 Vario with 165 hp; and 718 Vario with 180 hp. This broadens the 700 Series performance range to a total of six tractors in the series, from 145 to 240 hp.

The new models are equipped with the new VisioPlus cab, including the Fendt Variotronic, fuel-saving SCR technology. The 714 and 716 models are equipped with the ML 140 transmission and the 718 model and higher with the ML 180.

Producers in North America can expect these models to reach dealers in the first half of 2012. “We see significant growth potential in the North American market,” says Roland Schmidt, Fendt marketing director. “As part of that growth, we are investing more than $172 million (EUR) in a new manufacturing facility to expand our volume.”

Fendt participated in the Agritechnica Preliminary Press Conference and Exhibitor Preview, held last week in Bad Homburg, Germany. This year’s Agritechnica will be held November 15 through 19 in Hannover, Germany.

Farm Industry News will be on-site at Agritechnica to bring you the latest news in farming innovations. We will offer you a preview of these technologies leading up to the show, and will provide online blogs, tweets and video during the show.
