5 piece tool kit tested on the farm

Ridgid introduced the Gen 5x 5-piece combo kit that contains a hammer drill, impact driver, circular saw, reciprocation saw, and an LED flashlight. The tools feature permanent magnet motors that are engineered to provide power, performance, and lengthy runtime. Team FIN tested each tool in the kit and rated them, individually, on a scale of 1 to 5.

Overall, Team FIN said the 5 piece kit is a good buy. Each tool comes equipped with grip lights that engage with the slightest touch of the trigger. They cast a bright light right where it’s needed, without any shadows, and the hammer drill, impact, and reciprocating saw have a time delay that leaves the light on approx. 10 sec. The batteries have power indicators and the tools seem to be designed with the operator in mind. They are comfortable to grip, heavy duty, and easy to operate. Yet, the best feature of the tool kit is Ridgid’s lifetime service agreement. The tools come with free lifetime coverage including free batteries, parts, and service.

The Ridgid Gen5x combo kit (R9652) includes the Ridgid (R8611503) hammer drill, (R86035) impact driver, (R8652) circular saw, (R8642) reciprocating saw, (R8693) LED flashlight, (R840095) charger, 2 (R840087) 4.0 Ah batteries, auxiliary handle, 2 bits, circular saw blade, blade wrench, reciprocating saw blade, 3 belt hooks, and a bag. The tool kit costs $499 and is only available at Home Depot. For more information, visit
