Two Arizona companies will collaborate on the marketing of water treatment technology to aid the produce industry.

The Sunburst UV water treatment technology developed and owned by Ag Partners Southwest will be marketed and distributed by Keithly-Williams Fabrication. Both companies are based in Yuma.

Tim Frank, vice president and fabrication manager at Keithly-Williams said growers have not only expressed interest in the technology, but some are seeing expanded uses for the technology beyond its original selling point of water disinfection.

Paul Mondragon, owner of Ag Partners Southwest, invented the patent-pending technology. It disinfects irrigation water used to irrigate produce crops. The technology was tested by the University of Arizona and is shown to reduce harmful pathogen loads with ultraviolet light.

Keithly-Williams recently showcased the technology at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif., along side innovations fabricated by the Arizona company.

More information on Ag Partners Southwest and the Sunburst UV system is available online.
