For several years in early January, CES — the event once called the Consumer Electronics Show — would showcase a wide range of ideas and tools with an in-person crowd. Farm Progress attended the event in 2019 and 2020, talked with John Deere reps (the only ag company there) and checked out booths to see what’s new.

Not this year.

For 2021, the Consumer Technology Association went virtual with its major show. That does make wandering through the halls of the event a challenge. But by perusing press kits and checking exhibitors’ virtual booths, a fair share of new ideas was discovered. However, many were in the world of wearables, home health and home security.

For this slideshow, we’re calling out some products you might find interesting. Some are on the market, while others are still in startup mode. All have unique ideas for solving problems or bringing new approaches to old problems.

Check out these products. You’ll find that innovation keeps moving forward. We did try to keep it real, mostly.
