NEBRASKA-BOUND: TerrAvion recently announced it has expanded its presence in Nebraska and Colorado with the appointment of regional vice presidents Tony Reinsch, Ryan Fjeldheim and Cole Lewandoski to lead sales in the region.

TerrAvion, which helps farmers take a high-tech approach to improving yield and revenue through the use of aerial imagery, announced recently that it has expanded its presence in Nebraska and Colorado, appointing regional vice presidents Tony Reinsch, Ryan Fjeldheim and Cole Lewandowski to lead sales in the region.

TerrAvion began providing aerial imagery to farmers in eastern Colorado and western Nebraska in 2016. "TerrAvion aerial imagery explains the issues you see in yield maps," says Blaine Schmidt, regional YieldPoint specialist for CHS, one of TerrAvion's national distribution partners. "Now we know not only when did this happen, we know why."

TerrAvion provides high-quality, subscription aerial imagery to help growers make their operations more profitable. For example, growers can use TerrAvion imagery to spot plant health issues and irrigation problems, so they can take action and avoid negative impacts to their bottom line. TerrAvion aerial imagery provides a bird's-eye view of the farm, and allows growers to see things they wouldn't be able to see through the naked eye from the ground.

It provides images on a regular schedule across the growing season, and delivers the images to growers within 24 hours of the flights. This allows growers to get a comprehensive view of what's happening on their farms in real time, so that they can plan scouting, management activities and interventions with accuracy and timeliness. Customers receive aerial plant vigor images, thermal images, custom color maps, underlying data and histograms.

TerrAvion's national distribution partners include CHS and Servi-Tech. In Nebraska and Colorado, TerrAvion has partnered with 80 agricultural retail locations and agricultural consultants to ensure that farmers can purchase TerrAvion aerial imagery from partners who are intimately familiar with their farming operations.

Reinsch has been working in the chemical and fertilizer industries for over 20 years, and once ran his own Nebraska-based crop consulting business.

Fjeldheim graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2013 with a degree in agricultural business. Before joining TerrAvion, he worked with some of the largest agricultural input providers in the world as a sales agronomist.

Lewandowski is a graduate of the ag college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln who has worked not only in ag business, but in economic development.
