Precise boom leveling

SPRAYER BOOMS are kept level with Topcon's new boom-leveling hydraulics and software. The software works on Topcon's X20 controller. The X20 Ultra Sonic Boom Leveler uses a dual-sonic/gyro system to keep the sprayer boom at a correct height. Four sensors are used to maintain the desired distance between the ground and boom. Using this system, the operator doesn't have to manually make adjustments and reduce speed while spraying.

Auto boom shutoff

A NEW automatic boom shutoff for sprayers is now available from Rinex. The AS7500 is easily attached to most spray rate controllers, GPS receivers and guidance systems with plug-and-play cables. It works with pull-behind and self-propelled sprayers.

The AS7500 automatically turns sections on and off when the spray rig crosses headlands or where it has already passed. Operators may spray around trees, rock piles or other obstacles without worrying about double spraying. The new device also connects with Tru Count air clutches for row shutoff on most planters.

Wide-screen printer

BROTHER INTERNATIONAL'S new MFC-885CW multifunction ink-jet printer features a 4.2-in. wide-screen color LCD, built-in wired and wireless networking, and proprietary inks and papers designed to enhance photo images and improve longevity. The LCD screen and built-in software allow photos to be directly downloaded, edited, enhanced and printed without first downloading to a computer. The LCD also allows “junk” faxes to be deleted without printing. In addition to printing and faxing, other functions include scanning and copying. Maximum printing speeds are 30 pages/min. for black and white and 25 pages/min. for color. The four-cartridge ink system allows individual cartridges to be replaced. The printer includes a 5.8-GHz cordless telephone handset.

Virus protection

KASPERSKY LAB'S Anti-Virus 7.0 provides hourly updates to protect computers against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware and adware, as well as malicious programs designed to take control of your computer and capture keystrokes to steal personal data. The software checks e-mail, downloaded files and Web pages for malicious behavior in an isolated section without endangering your computer. It also blocks unwanted pop-ups and banners. The software creates a rescue disc to instantly restore system software if it is damaged.
