The Kansas Cattlemen's Association, in cooperation with Montana-based National Carbon Offset Coalition is putting on a series of workshops in in four Kansas counties eligible for carbon offset credits.
The NCOC is a member of the Chicago Climate Exchange, which operates North America's only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide.
Cloud, Nemaha, Pottawatomie and Saline Counties quality for enrollment in the NCOC program for conservation tillage, ag methane, forestry and grassland plantings.
Meetings will be:
Feb. 9 -- 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Seneca city library
Feb. 9 – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wamega senior center
Feb. 10 – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Concordia city hall community room
Feb. 11 – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Salina city/county building.
