The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board has begun accepting names of interested candidates for its CEO position, and says it anticipates having a replacement named by mid-December.

Connie Seefeldt, WMMB Board Chairperson and a dairy farmer from Coleman, says the process to select a successor to James Robson has begun.

“The process by which we will select a CEO is well underway,” says WMMB Board Chairperson Connie Seefeldt of Coleman. “We have retained a recruiting firm with an outstanding reputation with a national reach in our effort to find a strong leader for the organization.”

The WMMB Search Committee, comprised of the seven members of the Executive Committee and three additional board members, will conduct final interviews in early to mid-November with the anticipation that the candidate selected will start after Jan. 1.

Robson resigned last April after the WMMB Board of Directors told him they wanted to go in a different direction.

As part of its search process, the committee has conducted informational meetings with farmer organizations and representatives of Wisconsin’s dairy processing industry to identify key attributes and experiences the next CEO should have, as well as to highlight organizational priorities.

Seefeldt said the board seeks an executive with broad experience in development and administration of budgets and work plans, knowledge of human resources and organizational development, knowledge of the food industry, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and sales. Additional expertise is desired in digital marketing, as well as strong public speaking and writing skills. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or a related field, along with progressively responsible management experience is required.

WMMB has retained Herd Freed Hartz to lead this recruiting process. Qualified candidates should send their resumes and/or direct any inquiries to Fred Pabst at Herd Freed Hartz Executive Search Partners, (206) 299-2140. Pabst’s email address is: [email protected].
