Wisconsin Corn Growers Revel In High Yields

Wisconsin Corn Growers Revel In High Yields
Participants in this year's Wisconsin Corn Growers Association state corn grower contest recorded impressive yields in a variety of locations.

Onalaska corn grower Henry Berg's 289.68 bushel per acre yield was a clear stand-out in the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association state corn grower contest, while second place winner, Adam Flyte of Coloma, registered an impressive 255.10 bushels per acre.

For the fourth consecutive year, WCGA award certificates and cash prizes of $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $100 for the third highest yield for winners in four distinct state contest divisions. All yields were checked by certified crop consultants and participants were allowed one entry for every WCGA membership they held.

WCGA works with other organizations in areas of mutual concern, including sustainability, biotech issues, resistance management, farmland valuation, conservation, and the environment. WCGA brings together corn growers to provide information and education at regional corn conferences and the annual Wisconsin Corn/Soy EXPO. As part of the National Corn Growers Association, WCGA represents corn grower interests nationally and internationally and also sponsors the national corn yield contest.
