Winners in Wisconsin State Fair Performance Lamb Contest Named

Fond du Lac County youth has top lamb.

Cole Tidemann from Fond du Lac County exhibited the Overall Champion Performance Lamb at the 2014 Wisconsin State Fair.

The Performance Lamb Division is a comprehensive competition incorporating rate of gain, live show and ultra-sound carcass evaluation.

Tidemann's Overall Champion, a crossbred, was 11th in rate of gain, 5th in carcass and Reserve Grand Champion in the live show for an overall score of 90.07.

The overall top 10 winners, as well as the top two exhibitors in the individual components of the contest, receive special premiums from Wisconsin State Fair.

The Overall Reserve Champion was also a Crossbred exhibited by Emily Pintens of Barron County which placed 17th in rate of gain, 1st in carcass and 2nd in class in the live show for an overall score of 88.55. Cole received a banner and $300. Emily received a banner and $250 from Wisconsin State Fair.
