Wheat Documentary To Air

"The Great American Wheat Harvest" movie will be shown air Aug. 22 in Bismarck, N.D.

A special showing of the documentary, The Great American Wheat Harvest, will be held at the Grand 22 movie theatre in Bismarck, N.D., on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. The screening y is sponsored by New Holland Agriculture, one of the many companies and agricultural organizations who provided support for the production of the film.

Wheat harvest across the U.S. is the topic of a new documentary that will air in Bismarck this week.

"New Holland is pleased to sponsor the showing of this important documentary film in North Dakota, the state that leads the nation in hard red spring wheat and durum production," says Mark Hooper, New Holland Director of Marketing, North America. "As an advocate for agriculture, we feel this film is a smart way to connect consumers with the North American wheat growers and custom harvesters who produce their food."

The Great American Wheat Harvest tells the story of hard-working custom harvesters who travel from the heart of Texas to the Canadian border harvesting the wheat that feeds not only our country, and the world. The story is dramatic as well as inspiring. It's compelling as it shares the challenges that are now threatening that way of life passed on from generation to generation.

The Great American Wheat Harvest is the creation of award-winning independent filmmaker, Conrad Weaver of ConjoStudios, LLC, who produced the documentary with sponsorship backing from New Holland and other agricultural companies, as well as state agriculture groups and agencies, including the North Dakota Wheat Commission. The national premiere screening was held during the 2014 National Ag Day festivities on March 25 in Washington, D.C.

"Americans take for granted the way our food supply comes to us daily. How many folks truly understand how, where and what it takes to get that loaf of bread into the market shelves and on to the table?" says filmmaker Conrad Weaver. "With rising industry costs, technological advances and production methods, new threats face our nation's agricultural producers every day, directly impacting our nation's supply. The Great American Wheat Harvest movie is the behind-the-scenes look and tribute to those working daily to produce our food and those gathering the harvest."

The Grand 22 Theatre is located at 1486 Interstate Loop in Bismarck, North Dakota. Learn more about The Great American Wheat Harvest at www.greatamericanwheatharvest.com .
