Tom Thieding of Verona has been hired by Wisconsin Corn Growers Association as communications director to promote the association's advocacy for Wisconsin's corn producers.
Theiding most recently was the corporate communications manager at the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, promoting economic development programs for the state of Wisconsin. He maintained his connection to agriculture by serving on the Wisconsin Agriculture and Education Workforce Development Council.

He has more than 20 years of experience in agriculture public relations, marketing and policy. He was the executive director of public relations with the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, director of marketing for Rural Mutual Insurance Company and press secretary and legislative assistant for former Wisconsin Congressman Steve Gunderson.
Thieding has served on the Wisconsin State Fair Agriculture Committee, Wisconsin Cranberry Museum Board, Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees, Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program Board, and was a co-founder of the Wisconsin Agri-Security Resource Network.
