Versatile Upgrades Row-Crop Tractor Lineup

Versatile Upgrades Row-Crop Tractor Lineup

Three horsepower ratings, a spacious cab, better operator visibility and Tier 4A emission compliance.

The Genesis line of row-crop tractors from Versatile got its first major upgrade since Buhler Industries announced the line would be powered with Cummins engines in 2008.

The new edition comes in Tier 4A compliant models with 260, 290 and 310 horsepower, all based on the Cummins QSL 9.0 L turbo-diesel engine. The clean air rating comes from exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter, so no diesel exhaust fluid is needed with the new Genesis.

The engine's variable geometry turbocharger provides for fast throttle response without turbo lag, and offers a torque rise of more than 40%.

The new look of Versatile's latest edition of its row crop product line features a sloped hood, bigger cab and three horsepower ratings from Cummins QSL engines.

The power from the Cummins moves through a 16Fx9R full powershift transmission with push-button controls.

The new models also have increased fuel capacity with 170-gallon fuel tanks.

The new-to-the-row-crop line cab offers a wide-swing door, adjustable armrests with fingertip controls and a 7-inch high-resolution display for electrohydraulics and tractor performance monitors. The cab also features 120 VAC outlets and a 5 VDC USB port.

Styling of the new Versatiles includes a sloped hood for better operator visibility, increased grill area for reduced maintenance and improved cooling potential, and a longer wheelbase designed for maneuverability, even with 30-inch row spacings.
