The beef checkoff recently launched the redesigned veal producer Web site, www.vealfarm.com. The new design provides for easier navigation, has an enhanced and updated color scheme and includes added graphics designed to share images from today's veal farms. A new layout makes the content easier to find and is geared towards providing easy access to the information most important to consumers – food safety, responsible animal care and the farmers who produce their food.
Visitors to the site will find a new feature called "Latest News" on the landing page. This new feature allows the Joint Veal Committee to provide timely updates and current news important to the veal community and consumers visiting the site. In addition, consumers can ask questions from the site by clicking on the "contact us" tab to encourage participation in the discussion surrounding today's veal industry.
"We know that today's consumer is increasingly interested in variety and nutrition when making food choices. The new www.vealfarm.com is their online destination to find the information they want on today's responsibly produced veal," says Dick Ayers, chairman of the beef checkoff's Joint Veal Committee. "Veal farmers are committed to meeting the changing demands and expectations of today's veal consumer and www.vealfarm.com is a great resource for information about meaningful programs such as the Veal Quality Assurance Program, the transition to group housing and the adoption of the ethical principles and code of conduct."
Additional enhancements, and updates, including a "members only" feature that will contain technical bulletins and other production information import to farmers and the veal community, will be introduced in the coming months.
