UW CALS Seeks Nominations for Awards

Public invited to submit nominations for University of Wisconsin awards.

The public is invited to submit nominations for the 2009 University of Wisconsin College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Honorary Recognition, Distinguished Service and Distinguished Alumni Awards by May 18.

The Honorary Recognition Award honors individuals who have demonstrated leadership and inspiration in agriculture, natural resources and the life sciences. Over the past 100 years, 495 individuals have received the award.

The Distinguished Service Award, introduced in 1994, recognizes university faculty and staff members for meritorious service to the college and university, to citizens of Wisconsin, and to people around the nation and the world.

This is the first year that CALS will bestow the Distinguished Alumni Award, which recognizes a career of outstanding achievement through extraordinary contributions to one's chosen field or an exemplary record of public service.

The awards will be presented on October 15 in the Great Hall, Memorial Union, UW-Madison at the CALS Honorary Recognition Banquet. This banquet is an opportunity to celebrate the connection between the College and its friends, supporters and stakeholders.

Nomination forms are available at: www.cals.wisc.edu/alumni/ecals/?p=1862
