United Pulse Trading recently announced that it will add a third North Dakota facility in Minot, which will be located at Minot's Value-Added Agricultural Complex.

United Pulse Trading is a supplier of all types of U.S. pulses and specialty crops, including beans, chickpeas, peas and lentils, and has locations in Bismarck and Williston. The new Minot facility will include pulse processing equipment to augment the company's processing capacity at its Williston production facility. It will also add capacity for making food ingredient pulse flours, proteins, starches and fibers.

United Pulse is a subsidiary of Alliance Grain Traders Inc., the largest lentil and pea splitting company in the world, and is expected to begin its Minot operations in August 2012. The new processing facility is expected to bring more than 40 jobs to the area.

Gov Jack Dalrymple was in Minot recently to commemorate the expansion of United Pulse Tading and another business.

"These business expansions signify real progress and opportunity for Minot, the region and the state," Dalrymple says. "They not only underscore the exciting economic activities occurring throughout our state across a variety of industry sectors, but they represent significant milestones on Minot and the area's road to recovery following this year's historic flooding."
