Tillage Tool Gets Upgrade

Tillage Tool Gets Upgrade

Smart-till gets new bearing design that requires little maintenance.

Smart-till has been on the market for 8 years and the folks at HCC, Inc. are often looking for ways to enhance this innovative machine. This year they've moved to a new bearing design leaving behind the pillow block design for a new trunnion bearing.

The new bearing, called TillXtreme by its maker, is standard on the Smart-till for 2014. In tough tillage situations farmers will find the new bearing has a higher strength ductile iron design build to stand up to impacts and tough service duty. The Smart Till design requires that the machine move at a good speed in rugged conditions, so the new bearing design enhances durability.

TOUGHER DESIGN: New trunnion bearing replaces pillow block and needs no greasing for maintenance.

And while it's more durable, it's also easier to maintain, since it requires no greasing. And HCC has a new research report that should be online soon exploring the benefits of the tillage system. You can learn more by visiting
