Thousands of Schools Signed Up for Fuel Up to Play 60 Program

Program goal is getting kids more active and eating nutrient-rich foods.

About 60,000 schools around the country have signed up to be part of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. It's an in-school nutrition and physical activity campaign launched by the National Dairy Council and the National Football League.

Char Heer of the Midwest Dairy Council says what happens when schools sign up for the program is they receive a wellness kit that will have posters and information for students to get some ideas on programs to be more active and get those nutrient-rich foods.

Heer says the goal is to have young people eat nutrient-rich foods, including low fat and fat free dairy products, and get 60 minutes of daily physical activity.
