Steve Irsik Joins Beef Board

Ingalls beef producers, agribusiness entrepreneur named to board that oversees spending of checkoff money.

Ingalls beef producer and agribusiness entrepreneur Steve Irsik has been appointed to a three-year term on the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board, which oversees the national Beef Checkoff program.

Irsik is general partner of Irsik Equities, LP, a family owned agricultural business headquartered near Garden City. Irsik Equities involves significant irrigated and dryland farming interests, a native grass ranch, commercial cows, dairy, commercial cattle feeding, feed milling, interests in wheat and oats milling, plus further processing and commercial banking. He also opened a Little Caesar fast-food restaurant in Garden City.

Irsik was nominated to the Beef Board by the Kansas Livestock Association, and is active in that organization, as well as the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and Dairy Farmers of America.

He holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

The mission of the Cattlemen's Beef Board is to build demand for beef through promotion, research and information programs of the national Beef Checkoff Program.
