Soybean Genome Getting The Fine-Tooth Comb In New Collaboration

Soybean Genome Getting The Fine-Tooth Comb In New Collaboration

Bayer CropScience and Nature Source Genetics are collaborating on isolating even more soybean genetics.

In a five year collaborative effort, Bayer CropScience and Nature Source Genetics will expand their working relationship to find previously non-detectable, naturally-occuring genes in the soybean that can be used to enhance material available for plant breeders.

The partnership builds on successful collaboration in the cotton genome, and with the portfolio of genetic material brought to the table by Nature Source, Bayer officials say they can expedite the identification and incorporation of new and useful genetics to their company's plant breeding efforts.

Financial terms surrounding the collaboration on soybeans have not been announced.

Bayer CropScience and Nature Source Genetics are cooperating on a venture to comb previously non-detectable, naturally-occurring genes in soybeans to boost the enhancement of genetic material available for soybean breeders.
