The University of Wisconsin-Extension will host eight Soil, Water and Nutrient Management Meetings around the state, starting Dec. 2 through Dec. 11.

Discussion topics include:
* Introduction and demonstration of the online 590 Nutrient Application Restriction Maps;
* Subsurface drains: Principles and practices;
* Consider the strip-tillage option;
* Identifying the dominant critical soil for nutrient management;
* Fertilizer and nutrient management considerations in a high-cost environment;
* Nutrient management and tile drainage;
* SNAP Plus update; and
* What’s new with manure.

Speakers include Sara Walling and Sue Porter, Wisconsin DATCP; John Panuska, UW-Madison Biological Systems Engineering; and Dick Wolkowski, Carrie Laboski, Matt Ruark and John Peters from UW-Madison Department of Soil Science.

The following CEU’s for Certified Crop Advisers have been requested: 2 CEUs in soil and water management and 2 CEUs in nutrient management.

Each meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. A $35 registration fee (which includes lunch) will be charged for the meeting. Noon meal reservations should be made with the host agent. The information packet will contain PowerPoint summaries of talks and other useful reference materials.

Organizers request participants to pre-register with the host agent at least one week before the meeting they wish to attend.
