A South Dakota State University publication updated for 2009 offers the latest information on weed control in small grains and millet.

SDSU Extension Fact Sheet 525A, "Weed Control in Small Grain and Millet: 2009," is available online at this link: agbiopubs. sdstate.edu/articles/FS525A.pdf. Or ask at your county Extension office.

The 32-page publication reviews herbicides that have been shown to be effective in SDSU weed control experiments in small grain and millet. The publication includes information about rates, time to apply, herbicide cost, and resistance management. The discussion covers tank-mix and premix options.

The small grain/millet weed management guide is one of a series of weed management guides updated annually by SDSU Extension Weed Specialist Mike Moechnig, SDSU Extension Integrated Pest Management Coordinator Darrell Deneke, and SDSU Distinguished Professor Emeritus Leon Wrage..

SDSU's College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences, the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service, and the South Dakota Wheat Commission sponsor the publication.
