A 155-acre tract of farmland in Yankton County, S.D., sold for $6,900 per at a public auction in October. It had a soil productivity rating of 86.3.
In the same auction, a 156-acre parcel with a soil productivity rating of 71.9 sold for $6,500 per acre.
In the sale bill, both properties were described as "very clean" and " high producing."
Wieman Land and Auction Co., Marion, conducted the auction.
Approximately 80 acres of cropland and pasture between Brandon and Sioux Falls, S.D. sold for $7,000 per acre at a public auction Oct. 26.
"The property has tremendous development potential …as it lies ¾ of mile from the Sioux Falls city limit," the sale bill said.
The tract consisted of 36 tillable acres with the balance in pastures and ditches. The auction was conducted by LandMark Realty and Auction, Dell Rapids.
