Ground rig sprayers are becoming much more accurate in their ability to apply crop protection and see many hours in the field. That "time on task" is why Agco engineers have been working on making their RoGator machines more comfortable and efficient to use for the operator.

Dave Lovell, field sales and marketing support manager for the company's application equipment, says a number of design enhancements are included in the new RoGators. They include:

* A six-post cab design which provides unobstructed visibility, along with large side windows, curved corner windows and a panoramic view from the windshield.

* A lower boom position when configured for liquid application during transport and generous lighting for improved road safety.

* Wider entry access for easier operator entry and exit.

* A one-level slatted walkway for firm footing and easier access to the engine area for maintenance, plus a lower first step from the ground to the walkway.

* Right side armrest console that floats with the seat so operators don't have to reach or search for a control while operating the sprayer.

* Switches that don't require the operator to look at them during field operation.

* Positive cab pressure and a three-level air filtration system to eliminate dust, chemicals, and odors in the cab.

* Automatic temperature control in the cab.

* Sound dampening material strategically placed to maintain a low noise level.

* An air-ride cab suspension system and semi-active seat suspension for a comfortable ride in rough terrain.
