The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources is planning a 25th anniversary celebration event for the Reinvest in Minnesota Reserve wetland restoration and critical lands protection program.
The event will be held on July 21. Planning is underway and more details will be announced soon.
RIM Reserve, implemented by local Soil and Water Conservation Districts, is a critical component of the state's efforts to protect and restore wildlife habitat on private lands and protect and improve our state's water quality. Since 1986, the state has appropriated nearly $190 million for conservation easements.
BWSR, along with local SWCDs, has acquired more than 5,200 easements totaling more than 193,000 acres.
Since 1998, RIM Reserve has leveraged an additional $280 million from the United States Department of Agriculture.
