Some shuffling in the irrigation equipment industry has yielded a new name and improved services for irrigators looking for remote sensing and remote control of their field equipment.

Reinke Manufacturing's acquisition of Pivotrac.com LLC, has spawned the creation of ReinTech LLC -- a company created to support products to allow irrigators to monitor and control field equipment via the Internet.

Chris Roth, Reinke president, says the Pivotrac line of satellite-based equipment is a good addition to the firm's inventory. "Reinke has been using advanced technology in its products, including GPS, for many years and this acquisition further solidifies our leadership position in the area of irrigation technology."

The purchase of Pivotrac was finalized at the end of 2008, and came after Reinke had partnered with the remote sensing firm during development of Reinke's OnTrac monitor and control system.

ReinTech LLC will be involved in taking Reinke's name and equipment into the global market with seamless monitoring and control functions around the globe with a variety of GPS-type systems available today.
