Variable Rate Irrigation applications are now part of Reinke's product line with its introduction of VRI, a data-driven irrigation management tool designed to boost water efficiency and conserve pumping energy.
Reinke President Chris Roth says "Our VRI Touch Screen control panel becomes the first fully-integrated agronomical VRI solution capable of importing water application prescriptions."
Reinke's new VRI system provides a fully-integrated package when it's used with the company's RPM Touch Screen and Navigator GPS.
Whether for multiple crops on one field, differences in soil type or terrain, in a few steps, Reinke VRI enables growers to match water application to unique changes within the field. First, electrical conductivity and RTK GPS elevation surveys of a grower's pivot path are used to determine topography and soil variables. Then, that data is processed to determine the recommended water rates for each field. Each "prescription" is designed to match the unique attributes of the field and crop along with changing weather conditions.
The Reinke system is a collaborative effort with CropMetrics and offers both zone and sector VRI to control the speed of the system and to turn nozzles on and off when needed.
