Register For 2011 "Women in Denim" Conference

Register For 2011 "Women in Denim" Conference

Seventh annual conference for women involved in agriculture is January 21-22, 2011 in Storm Lake, Iowa. You are urged to register as soon as possible.

If you're a woman involved in agriculture mark your calendar for Jan. 21 and Jan. 22, 2011 and plan to attend the 7th annual "Women In Denim" conference. For women in agriculture from Iowa and the surrounding states, the event offers opportunities for fun, networking, learning and inspiration led by entertaining and knowledgeable speakers.

Held at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake in northwest Iowa, the conference begins Friday evening Jan. 21 with a banquet and keynote speaker, Amy Dee-Kristensen. Amy's inspirational keynote talk is titled "Bold Woman Bliss" and she will enlighten and humor everyone with her creative and fun presentation.

The closing speaker for the conference Saturday afternoon will be Iowa State University Dean Dr. Wendy Wintersteen. Wintersteen is Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Ames, and is one of the few women to lead a nationally renowned agricultural college. She will share her insights, along with her view of important trends and opportunities, and will also share her enthusiasm for agriculture, during the closing session.

Workshop sessions will cover a number of timely topics

Workshop sessions cover topics such as grain and livestock marketing, starting a small business, entertaining and cooking, digital photography, farm financials, new technology in agronomy, staying healthy, Iowa travel gems, sewing and gardening. A complete list of the small group sessions is available on the website

Vendors will once again line the halls of Buena Vista University's Forum with a wide variety of products and services.

Registration is available on the website and is still at the low price of $35. As an added bonus, if you bring someone who has never attended, both you and the new attendee will get $5 off registration. Check out the new website for registration and more information. Or contact Barbara Campbell Determan at 712-273-5745.
