Public Comments Sought on Climate Change Report

The U.S. Climate Change Science Program and USDA are looking for comments on a report on the effects of climate change.

A 45-day public comment period for a report on climate change was announced by the CCSP and USDA Tuesday. USDA has taken the lead in preparation of this Synthesis and Assessment Product entitled "The Effects of Climate Change on Agriculture, Land Resources, Water Resources, and Biodiversity." The report deals with the effects of climate change in those areas for the next 25 to 50 years.

The report was written by more than three dozen authors and offers 80 findings with more than 1,000 references to the effects of climate change on U.S. agriculture.

Comments on the report are due by Oct. 26, 2007. To read the full report and submit comments, click HERE.
