The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation Board of Directors has elected Ed Strauss of Sheboygan Falls as chairman. Strauss has served on the PDPF Board since 2012. He is a partner at Majestic Crossing Dairy with sons Dean and Darin and has been farming for more than 40 years.

Strauss says he believes in the foundation work because, “I feel that dairy producers need to control their own destiny. We need to shape the message about what we do and what we produce.”

Strauss has held leadership positions on the AgSource and CRI boards over the past 12 years.

John Kappelman of Cedar Grove will serve as vice chairman and Linda Hodorff of Eden continues as secretary-treasurer. Mark Diederich of Malone has joined the board. Diederich is a partner and general manager at Lake Breeze Dairy and is past president of the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin. Rounding out the foundation board are dairy producers Kevin Griswold and Ellen Schaefer and industry partner Keith Engel.

“The dairy industry is fortunate to have excellent leaders that will enhance our organization,” says Deb Reinhart, executive director of the foundation. “They have the skills and commitment needed to build a sustainable, thriving foundation that can fund the programming and research that our producers, industry and communities need for generations to come.”
