Polaris Introduces a Quick-on-the-trail Ranger RZR

New trail-capable side-by-side utility vehicle is compact and powerful.

Off-roading with a side-by-side utility vehicle just got quicker as Polaris introduces its Ranger RZR, a light-weight, muscular all-wheel drive vehicle powered with an 800 cc. fuel-injected twin cylinder engine.

The Ranger RZR measures 50 inches wide for easy transporting and access to narrow trails, and features an AWD system that continually monitors traction and applies power front and back as needed – then, reverts to 2WD when AWD is no longer needed. The AWD suspension allows 9 inches of travel in the front and 9.5 inches in the rear with a total ground clearance of 10 inches. A behind-the seat engine design allows the RZR to boast the lowest cage height and lowest center of gravity in its class. The RZR weighs in at 945 lbs.

Power comes from Polaris's 800 Big Bore Twin EFI engine and is good for a 0-35 mph time of four seconds and a top speed of 55 mph. Towing capacity is 1,500 lbs., the cargo bed holds 300 lbs. (with 12 tie down points) and the entire vehicle is designed to accept Lock & Ride accessories and other Polaris options like cabs, cargo systems, etc.

Polaris' new Ranger RZR brings "push-you-back" performance to side-by-side utility vehicles. A new

behind-the-seat engine design allows a lower center of gravity for better handling and easier mount and dismount.

The RZR comes in green and red and should be in showrooms by early summer. The MSRP is $9,999.
