One farmer says he can't grow soybeans. His farm only averaged 53 bushels per acre this year. Only 53 – most years that would be a great average, well above the state average. This year there are higher numbers, but his farm average probably had more to do with when he didn't get key rains than anything else.
It's that kind of year: mostly up with a few downers due to too much rain early or too little rain at key times in a few spots. Most people are reporting yields that knock it out of the park.
