Pfizer Animal Health today announced five chances to win $1,000 to improve herds using genomic technology.

By entering the HD 50K and GeneMax Sweepstakes before March 31, 2013, five producers will receive $1,000 each to apply toward the purchase of an animal with genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences powered by High-Density 50K, or testing their own herds with GeneMax.

Pfizer says the HD 50K and GeneMax technology can help maximize Black Angus cattle efficiency by providing dependable options for selection young Angus bulls; and Genemax identifies high-percentage heifers and feeder calves through DNA testing.

Any Black Angus animal with GE-EPDs powered by HD 50K is eligible to be purchased with the prize. Or, if producers choose to apply the prize toward GeneMax testing, those tests can be used on any high-percentage Angus animals.

Additionally, prizes will be awarded to the first 500 entrants — each will receive a free 100 mL bottle of DECTOMAX® 1% Injectable.

Winners will be drawn and announced monthly, with the first drawing on Nov. 30, 2012.
