The Oak Ridge Boys will be the grandstand headliner at the South Dakota State Fair on Friday, Sept. 3.
The internationally renowned quartet has been making hit records, collecting honors – including three Country Music Association awards – and selling out concert halls with its ebullient blend of country, pop and gospel singing for more than 30 years. The group was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2000.
Among its most famous songs are "Elvira" and "Bobbie Sue".
"We are excited to announce the first concert of our grandstand lineup," says State Fair Manager Jerome Hertel. "We look forward to having The Oak Ridge Boys back with us for our 125th Anniversary. They'll put on a great show for the crowd."
The 2010 South Dakota State Fair will run Thursday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Sept. 6. Preview night will be Wednesday, Sept. 1. For more information on State Fair events, contact the Fair office at 800-529-0900 or visit www.sdstatefair.com.
