Nominations Needed For Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council

Seats open for organic farmer and organic business representative.

For those interested in serving on the Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council, nominations are due by March 10. The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is accepting nominations for four open seats.

Seats are available for an organic farmer, representative from an organic business, representative from a non-profit and an 'at-large' seat. People can choose to self-nominate or nominate someone else.

The Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council works to advise government agencies and organizations on critical organic issues and supports organic production, processing and purchasing opportunities. Wisconsin ranks second in the nation for the number of organic farms.

Board members serve three-year terms and attend quarterly meetings. Selected Council members will begin their service at the July meeting.
