The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is now accepting nominations for three board member positions on the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board, Inc.
"Marketing boards rely on producer elections and strong leadership to be successful," said Wisconsin Ag Secretary Ben Brancel. "I highly encourage producers to nominate themselves or another qualified individual from their district for the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board so it can continue to expand sales of Wisconsin corn."
Producers who grow and sell corn in the following counties are eligible to nominate a producer or to be nominated at this time:
? District 3 – Forest, Florence, Marinette, Langlade, Oconto, Shawano, Door, Outagamie, Brown, Kewaunee, Winnebago, Calumet, Manitowoc, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan.
? District 5 – LaCrosse, Vernon, Crawford, Richland, Grant, Iowa and Lafayette.
? District 6 – Sauk and Dane.
A nomination form must include signatures of at least five other eligible corn producers from the district in which the nominee is running for election. The notarized Affidavit of Eligibility must be completed on the nomination form. The Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection will accept nominations through Nov. 30.
